Schedule F — Managed Firewall

← All terms & conditions

Version: af-sched-fw-2026-08 · Effective: 28 August 2026 Read with the Active Fibre Master Services Agreement.

F1. What this service is

F1.1 A managed network security service comprising:

    (a) a firewall appliance supplied by Active Fibre and installed at your premises;     (b) the vendor licence or subscription for that appliance (which may include features such as intrusion prevention, content filtering, anti-malware and VPN, as stated in your Order); and     (c) management and monitoring of the appliance by Active Fibre — configuration, rule changes, firmware and signature updates, and health monitoring.

F1.2 The Order states the appliance model, the licence tier, the features enabled and the number of sites or users covered.

F2. What is included and excluded

F2.1 Included: initial configuration and deployment; a reasonable number of rule and policy changes requested during business hours; firmware and signature updates; monitoring of appliance health; and support of the firewall itself.

F2.2 Excluded unless separately quoted: network design and re-architecture; endpoint or server security; internal cabling and LAN; third-party software; incident response and forensic investigation; data recovery; user awareness training; and configuration of systems other than the firewall.

F3. Security is not a guarantee

F3.1 A firewall reduces risk. It does not eliminate it. We do not warrant that the service will prevent all unauthorised access, malware, ransomware, data loss, data breach or other security incident.

F3.2 We are not liable for any loss arising from a security incident, including loss of data, business interruption, regulatory penalties, ransom payments or reputational harm, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Clause 14 of the Master Services Agreement applies.

F3.3 You remain responsible for your own security posture, including passwords and access control, patching your systems, backups, endpoint protection, and your obligations under POPIA as Responsible Party for your own data.

F3.4 There is no uptime service level and no service credits under this Schedule unless your Order expressly says otherwise.

F3.5 Where you instruct us to apply a configuration against our written recommendation, we will implement it, and we are not liable for the consequences.

F4. Your obligations

F4.1 You must provide a suitable installation position, stable power and, where required, a UPS; safe and timely access for installation and maintenance; an authorised contact who may approve rule changes; and prompt notice of any suspected incident.

F4.2 You must not modify, reconfigure, relocate, open or replace the appliance, or allow anyone other than us to do so.

F4.3 Only requests from your authorised contacts will be actioned. You must keep that list current.

F5. Term and cancellation

F5.1 The initial term is 24 months from activation, unless your Order states otherwise. The term is aligned to the underlying vendor licence.

F5.2 After the initial term the service continues month-to-month on one (1) Calendar Month's written notice.

F5.3 Early termination within the initial term makes you liable for the full balance of the monthly charges for the remainder of the term, plus any unrecovered appliance cost and any non-cancellable vendor licence cost, as set out in clause 4.1 of the Master Services Agreement. Vendor licences are generally non-refundable once purchased.

F6. Equipment and end of term

F6.1 The appliance remains the property of Active Fibre at all times unless your Order records that you purchased it outright.

F6.2 On termination you must return the appliance and its power supply within 30 days, in good order. If it is not returned, or is returned damaged, we may invoice you the full replacement cost (Master Services Agreement clause 9.4).

F6.3 On termination the vendor licence lapses. Security features stop updating, and the appliance must not continue to be used to provide protection you are no longer licensed for.

F6.4 We will, on written request and at your cost, provide a copy of the final firewall configuration to assist migration. We are not obliged to support a configuration after termination.

F7. Changes to vendor pricing

F7.1 Where the vendor changes licence or subscription pricing, or where exchange-rate movements materially change our cost, we may adjust the monthly charge on one (1) Calendar Month's written notice, in line with clause 5.7 of the Master Services Agreement.
