I1.1 Registration, renewal, transfer and management of domain names on your behalf. Active Fibre acts as your registrar or reseller-of-record with the relevant registry (for example ZACR for .za domains, or an international registry via our upstream partner).
I1.2 You are the registrant. The domain is registered in your name and you hold the rights in it, subject to the registry's rules.
I2.1 Every domain is subject to the rules of its registry and, where applicable, ICANN policies — including the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP), or for .za domains the ZADNA / ZACR rules and the Alternate Dispute Resolution Regulations under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
I2.2 By ordering a domain you agree to be bound by those registry rules, which may change without our involvement. We are bound to apply them.
I2.3 You warrant that your registration does not infringe anyone's trade mark or other rights, and that the registrant details you give us are true, complete and current. You must tell us promptly when they change. Registries may suspend or cancel a domain for inaccurate registrant details.
I3.1 An availability check is indicative only. A domain is only yours once the registry confirms the registration.
I3.2 Registration may fail or be refused — because the name was taken in the interim, the registry rejected it, or a premium fee applies. We are not liable for failure to secure a domain. Where registration fails, we refund what you paid for it.
I3.3 We are not liable for loss arising from a dispute over a domain, or from a registry's decision to suspend, cancel or transfer it.
I4.1 Domains renew automatically unless you cancel them. Cancellation must be in writing to accounts@activefibre.co.za before the renewal date.
I4.2 You remain liable for the renewal fee for any domain not cancelled in time.
I4.3 We send renewal reminders as a courtesy. Sending a reminder is a courtesy, not an obligation, and we are not liable if a reminder is not received — including where it is filtered as spam or sent to an outdated address. Keep your contact details current.
I4.4 If a domain is not renewed and lapses, it enters the registry's expiry, redemption and deletion cycle. Recovery during redemption, where possible at all, attracts the registry's redemption fee, which we pass through at cost plus our administration fee. Once deleted, a domain may be registered by anyone.
I4.5 We are not liable for the loss of a lapsed domain, or for any consequence of that loss, including loss of email, website availability or business.
I5.1 Domains are registered for the registration period stated at the time of order (usually 12 months) and are billed on the cycle stated in your Order.
I5.2 A domain registration, once made, cannot be cancelled for a refund — the registry fee is non-refundable. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
I5.3 Where a domain was provided free or at a reduced price with a hosting or bundle package, and that package is cancelled during its term, the domain's standard registration fee for the balance of the domain's 12-month term becomes payable.
I6.1 Transfers away. You may transfer a domain to another registrar at any time, provided your account is fully paid up. We will supply the authorisation code and will not unreasonably delay or refuse a transfer.
I6.2 Registries impose their own transfer restrictions — for example, a domain may not be transferable within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer.
I6.3 Transfers in are subject to the domain being unlocked, the correct authorisation code being supplied, and the registry accepting the transfer.
I7.1 Where we host your DNS, you may manage records through the customer portal. You are responsible for the records you create; we are not liable for loss caused by an incorrect record you set.
I7.2 We may make DNS changes necessary to deliver a service you have ordered, or to comply with a lawful instruction.
I8.1 Registrant details are published or disclosed in accordance with the registry's WHOIS or RDAP rules. We must supply the registry with the information it requires, and this is a necessary disclosure under POPIA in order to perform our agreement with you.

Please note: installation of a new line by the fibre network operator can take up to 15 days; any router we supply remains Active Fibre's property and must be returned if you cancel; and uptime is not guaranteed, as it depends on the network operator, power and other factors outside our control.
