Schedule G — Web Hosting

← All terms & conditions

Version: af-sched-web-2026-08 · Effective: 28 August 2026 Read with the Active Fibre Master Services Agreement.

G1. What this service is

G1.1 Shared web hosting on our cPanel platform, comprising disk space, bandwidth, databases, and the mailbox and add-on domain allowances stated in your package.

G1.2 The package you order states your disk, mailbox, add-on domain and other resource limits.

G2. Best effort — no uptime commitment

G2.1 Web hosting is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uptime, availability, performance or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. There is no service level agreement and no service credits for downtime.

G2.2 We may perform maintenance, apply security patches and move accounts between servers. We will give notice where reasonably practicable.

G3. Backups are not guaranteed

G3.1 You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of your website, databases and content.

G3.2 We may take platform backups as a courtesy, for our own disaster-recovery purposes. We do not guarantee that a backup exists, that it is current, that it is complete, or that a restore will succeed. You must not rely on our backups as your backup.

G3.3 Where we are able to assist with a restore, we may charge a fee for doing so.

G3.4 We are not liable for loss of data, content, email or configuration, however caused, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

G4. Resource use

G4.1 Shared hosting is a shared environment. You must not use resources in a way that degrades service for other customers.

G4.2 We may throttle, suspend or require an upgrade where an account materially exceeds its allocation or consumes disproportionate CPU, memory, database or I/O resources — including through inefficient code, unoptimised queries, crawlers or attack traffic directed at your site.

G4.3 We may suspend an account immediately where it is compromised, is distributing malware, is being used for phishing, or is the source or target of an attack that threatens the platform.

G5. Your content and responsibilities

G5.1 You are responsible for your website, its content, its code and any third-party themes, plugins or applications you install, including keeping them updated and secure.

G5.2 Your content must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy and with South African law. Notice-and-takedown is handled through ISPA as our designated agent (Master Services Agreement clause 11.5).

G5.3 You must comply with POPIA in respect of personal information you collect through your website. You are the Responsible Party for that information.

G6. Term, cancellation and data on termination

G6.1 Hosting is provided month-to-month.

G6.2 Cancellation requires one (1) Calendar Month's written notice to accounts@activefibre.co.za.

G6.3 On termination your hosting account and all data in it — files, databases, email and backups — may be permanently deleted. Take a full copy of everything you need before the service ends. We are not obliged to retain or supply data after termination, and may charge a fee for any retrieval we are able to perform.

G6.4 Suspended accounts continue to be billed (Master Services Agreement clause 6.2). Reactivation attracts the R79.99 fee.

G7. Migrations

G7.1 Where we assist with migrating a website to our platform, we do so on a reasonable-endeavours basis. We do not guarantee that a site will function identically after migration, and we are not responsible for third-party code, licences or compatibility.
